HIS HONOUR JUDGE JAMES BURBIDGE KC

CIRCUIT JUDGE, WORCESTER and HEREFORD CROWN COURT

James Burbidge was called to the Bar in 1979, took silk in 2003 and was appointed a Circuit Judge in 2011. In 2016 he was appointed to sit as a part-time Judge in the Court of Appeal Criminal Division. In 2015 he was appointed the Resident Judge for Wolverhampton and he was appointed as the Honorary Recorder of the City of Wolverhampton in 2018. In 2020 he was appointed the Resident Judge for the cathedral cities of Worcester and Hereford and also the Honorary Recorder for Worcester. James is a leading advocacy trainer for Lincoln’s Inn, organised the advocacy training on the Midland Circuit for 7 years and has undertaken international advocacy training in Singapore, the Hague and Alexandria, VA. He is a Director of Training for the Judicial College of England and Wales and in that capacity creates, organises and tutors training courses in criminal law, for the continued professional development of full and part time judges. He has international experience of training judges in Albania.
