About Our Program
PBSA certificate programs are open to all individuals but were specifically crafted for employees of Consumer Reporting Agencies, End Users of consumer reports and Criminal Research Providers in, or providing services in the United States. They are developed to benefit staff at every level of the organization.
Additional Information
Certificate programs consist of a sequence of webinars that participants must watch before they can take a multiple-choice exam. This exam must be finished within 60 days of purchasing the program. Participants have two chances to pass the exam, needing a minimum score of 80% to succeed. Upon achieving a passing grade, participants receive a certificate valid for two years and can display the relevant certificate logo. The FCRA Advanced Certificate is only available to existing Core or Basic Certificate holders.

Renewals


To apply for renewal, the existing certificate must remain valid within the two-year timeframe from its receipt. All certificate holders seeking renewal after two years must submit a renewal application. Core certificate holders seeking renewal will have two options:

(1)

renewal via PBSA offered Professional Development Credits (PDCs), or

(2)

renewal via exam. All other certificate holders must renew via exam.

  • The individual who is taking this course and exam must have an PBSA account to log-in and purchase. Non-members will be prompted to register for an account prior to obtaining access to purchase.
  • Do not purchase this exam for another person in your membership account. If the participant does not have PBSA login credentials, contact your company's PBSA billing contact to add employees to the company profile and register you for the program. Should you have any questions in this regard, contact membership@thepbsa.org.
  • Certificate holders are responsible for ensuring that their email address remains up-to-date with PBSA to receive renewal notifications.
  • This program is not currently approved for HRCI credits.
