Trauma
severs bonds with self and others while healing trauma makes space for
bonding sensations and emotions associated with the body. This session
will explore the neurobiology of fragmentation in the brain-body
connection and the potential for reconnection of an embodied, fully
alive self in the aftermath of trauma. The therapeutic focus of this
three-hour interactive session will be the potential for healing
fragmentation using EMDR.
Training objectives:
- Identify memory processing fragmentation in both neurological and clinical presentations.
- Recognize challenges to fragmentation in treatment-seeking behaviors.
- Explore memory processing fragmentation treatment methods with a focus on EMDR.
