CREOKS Play Therapy Cohort 11- Holiday Play Therapy

This workshop will focus on utilizing culturally sensitive holiday observances in relationship to play therapy interventions.Experiential interventions will be presented with culturally specific inclusiveness for client’s needs. Adaptations will be considered based on each clinician’s practice environments and settings.

Objectives:

  1. Participants will discuss 2 culturally relevant activities in relationship to therapeutic activities and theoretical modalities during holiday observances.
  2. Participants will analyze 3 culturally aware play therapy techniques in at least two foundational or seminal play therapy theories.
  3. Participants will describe the role of the clinician, client, and caregivers in relationship to DEI & J in the play therapy model being discussed.
  4. Participants will critique 2 DEI & J holiday play therapy activities in relation to play therapy theoretical orientations.
  5. Participants will discuss utilizing different theoretical play therapy interventions within their own practice.
  6. Participants will practice 2 DEI &J within their play therapy skills.
