The Steel Joist Institute (SJI) has recently rewritten Technical Digest No 6 “Design of Steel Joist Roofs to Resist Uplift Loads”. This session highlights key points discussed in this updated Technical Digest, and will explain how to effectively communicate the design requirements of the ASCE/SEI 7-10 wind provisions for open web steel joists and joist girders.
