Texas Certified Landscape Professional (TCLP) Exam

Before purchasing and completing any TNLA certification exam, you must respond to and meet the qualifications on the Exam Requirement survey.

Texas Certified Landscape Professional (TCLP) Exam is for individuals in the nursery/landscape industry cultivating a high degree of knowledge and skill in horticulture and landscape development. To maintain, 16 hours of continuing education units (CEUs) must be completed every two years before the certification renewal date.
There are three sections to this exam. Exam fees are non-refundable. You must take the exam within 90 days after the purchase date.

Must pass the general section with a score of 75% or above. Both Plant ID and Plant Characteristics require a 70% or above score to pass.

TCLP Exam Sections:

  • General Section - 200 Questions, 1 1/2 hour to take the exam
  • Plant Characteristics Section - 48 Questions, 1 hour to take the exam
  • Plant ID Section - 50 Questions, 1 hour to take the exam
After completing all TCLA exam sections, please submit the "Required Assignment." This will let TNLA know that you have completed the exam.
