Premium Webinar Series: Mass Timber Structures - Research in support of code provisions

Now available "on-demand"!

Live Webinar: June 2, 2022.  This presentation discusses the extensive fire research conducted to address knowledge gaps related to the performance of mass timber buildings under fire conditions. From full-scale fire tests to standard tests, this presentation will cover the experimental protocols and results from six influential test series. These research results ultimately demonstrated the viability of tall wood buildings and, through defined safety benchmarks, lead to the adoption of mass timber into the model building codes and changes to prescriptive requirements.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the research objectives and results for several mass timber fire test series.
  • Understand how the research results were used to identify safety benchmarks when adopting mass timber code provisions.
