G11 The New Mexico Public Media Digitization Project

Description

Working as an intern for GBH in Boston on the New Mexico Public Media Digitization Project with a wonderful and talented team has been an ideal experience in many ways. I have learned about methods for facilitating audio-video preservation and cataloging while working remotely during the Covid pandemic. As a native of New Mexico, I enjoyed the privilege of viewing New Mexico Public Broadcasting videos from the last few decades that provided a plethora of reminders about my love for my home state. Although many excellent series exist in the collection hosted by the American Archives of Public Broadcasting in cooperation with the Library of Congress, my favorite series I helped provide metadata and cataloging for was the ¡COLORES! series which features artists and photographers from New Mexico.
