G06 For All Time or Simply a Lark? - At Long Last Love in 16mm

Description

The late Peter Bogdanovich’s 1975 musical flop At Long Last Love has a complex and murky history, with a number of competing versions available for public viewing. To date, no complete production of the film containing all its musical numbers has been made accessible, commercially or otherwise, and the recent acquisition of the rights by Disney in their 20th Century Fox merger means it will likely remain legally unavailable for the foreseeable future. This poster relates the presenter’s experience with discovering, restoring, and presenting two “lost” musical numbers from the film and discusses challenges for amateur archivists of moving images in determining both the original and definitive versions of a given work.
