The workshop aims to demystify attachment and infant mental health concepts, providing therapists with a foundation of knowledge that is often absent from most counselor training programs. This webinar will provide an overview of the history of attachment research, key figures in the history of the work, an overview of assessment methodologies, and a discussion of the most effective methods and models of clinical intervention. This course serves as a foundational course in attachment and infant mental health concepts.

Objectives include:

1. Learners will be able to identify the major figures in the history and development of attachment work.
2. Learners will be able to identify attachment profiles and attachment-related diagnoses.
3. Learners will be able to identify key elements of Infant Mental Health.
4. Learners will be able to identify general strategies for attachment enhancement, as well as formalized treatment interventions used in attachment and Infant Mental Health work.

    Ashley Muns is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C), and is Endorsed® as an Infant Mental Health Specialist. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor and is certified as a professional school counselor in Oklahoma. She is a graduate of The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University and has earned a graduate certificate in Play Therapy from Capella University. Ashley’s areas of specialization include attachment, parent-child relationships, perinatal mood & anxiety disorders, adoption, complex trauma, neurodiversity, parental grief & loss, and self-worth. She is a counselor for the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline. Ashley is passionate about infant, early child-hood, and caregiver mental health, caregiver support, infant and maternal mortality, and health equity. Ashley currently resides in Crescent, OK with her husband Kevin Muns, their 6 children and seven cheeky dachshunds.
