Early Bird Full Fee - 4th Annual NYU Langone Health Oncology Rehabilitation Summit: From Diagnosis to Survivorship, Comprehensive Care of the Breast Cancer Patient

Description

Friday, October 25, 2024
This is a Live Webinar NOT an In-Person Event

Early Bird Available until 11:59PM EST Monday, August 26, 2024

Course Description
The American Cancer Society estimates that 310,720 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in 2024 in the United States. Breast cancer accounts for about 30% of all new female cancers each year. The average risk of a woman developing breast cancer sometime in her life is 13%. Thankfully, breast cancer death rates have been steadily decreasing since 1989 due to early detection and improved treatment. At this time, there are more than 4 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. With this increase in survivorship, medical focus in the field has turned to quality of life and management of treatment related side effects in this population.

This course aims to provide the latest evidence on the early identification of functional impairment and rehabilitative treatment within the breast cancer population. Learners will be educated on how to implement the latest rehabilitation strategies and techniques specifically focused on optimizing quality of life and function. Participants will have the opportunity to start implementing these strategies come Monday morning upon return to their respective practice settings.
