Best Practices in Advising and Coaching for the Expert-Level College Access Professional

An important part of advising and coaching is being able to stay current on research and best practices that will enable you, as a college access professional, to meet the needs of students. This course describes how to identify and prioritize strategies for advising, coaching, and college readiness.

This course covers:

  • Strategies for staying current on research and best practices; and
  • Advising seventh year GEAR UP students for first-year postsecondary success.
Take this final course to solidify your advising and coaching practices with the aim of helping students succeed and preparing them for postsecondary success.

Take the full series
This is the third of three courses on advising and coaching for college access professionals. The courses build on each other, so we recommend taking all three courses, regardless of experience. The full series should take up to 6 hours to complete and you can take the courses at your own pace.

Certificate of Completion
To receive a certificate of completion, you must complete each lesson, all surveys, and pass the assessment with an 80% or higher for which you will have two retake opportunities.
