Michelle McCaughey is NAEA’s director of government relations. She is a
government affairs professional with experience establishing and implementing
strategies for successful advocacy, media, education, and stakeholder
engagement programs. Prior to joining NAEA in May 2020, Michelle was senior
government affairs representative for a Fortune 500 independent petroleum
refiner and operations manager for the corporation’s employee political action
committee. Her career spans more than 30 years in corporate, association, and
government environments including seven years on Capitol Hill as public
information officer for the United States Senate Committee on Energy and
Natural Resources.
