Grand Rounds Webinar Series: High-Threshold Buprenorphine Treatment Practices

Description: Practitioners can help avert opioid-related overdose deaths by increasing patient retention in buprenorphine treatment. The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs partnered with researchers from Vital Strategies and Johns Hopkins University to study how practices and clinical protocols affect buprenorphine treatment termination rates. Our study found that high-threshold treatment practices were positively associated with buprenorphine treatment termination. This presentation summarizes our research and describes how LARA's new SUB rules can help reduce treatment termination rates.
