Description
In this training, Dr. Stephanie Grant will provide an overview of attachment from a biopsychosocial perspective. Material will be presented on the various attachment types as well as issues related to attachment organization and disorganization. Diagnostic relevance will be explored with a focus on the DC: 0-5 and strategies to support the development of secure attachment will be introduced briefly.

Learning Objectives - Participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the basic purpose of attachment.
  2. Increase their understanding of how attachment styles look in infants and younger children.
  3. Learn at least one way to support infant attachment development.

Beginning level courses introduce learners to a content area; include information about a condition, treatment method, or issue; and involve learning and comprehending content.

SCECHs: This training offers State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) for those with educator certification in Michigan. To receive SCECHs, you will need to provide your PIC and MiRegistry numbers when you created your MI-AIMH RELATE User Account. If you did not add those items you can go back to add those items or email lsheldon@mi-aimh.org to have those added. In order to receive SCECHs, individuals must also have a MiRegistry account.
