Description
In this session, participants will explore the areas of brain development in the infant and toddler years including three key components of executive function. Participants will make connections between brain development and executive function skills and identify opportunities to support brain development and executive function skills in practice. This session supports the ability to scaffold brain development through relationship and playful interactions.

Training Video Length: 1 hour, 30 minutes (this includes time for activities discussed in the training video)

Learning Objectives - Participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the areas and rates of brain development in the infant and toddler years.
  2. Describe the three key components of executive function.
  3. Identify opportunities to support brain development and executive function skills in practice.

Content Level: Beginning level courses introduce learners to a content area; include information about a condition, treatment method, or issue; and involve learning and comprehending content.

IMH Endorsement® - Will count towards the requirements for the MI-AIMH Endorsement®
SCECHs: This training offers State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) for those with educator certification in Michigan. To receive SCECHs, you will need to provide your PIC and MiRegistry numbers when you created your MI-AIMH RELATE User Account. If you did not add those items you can go back to add those items or email lsheldon@mi-aimh.org to have those added. In order to receive SCECHs, individuals must also have a MiRegistry account.
