Understanding the Traffic Signal Timing Process

Webinar Description:

This first webinar will have a team of traffic signal practitioners introduce the basic concepts of the timing development process. This session will focus heavily on a review of the Traffic Signal Timing Manual (NCHRP Report 812) and will provide an overview of the outcome based timing approach which puts an emphasis on signal system users and priorities.

  • Explain the fundamentals and principles of traffic signal timing.
  • Apply the various concepts outlined in the Traffic Signal Timing Manual (NCHRP Report 812)
  • Understand the various techniques to develop timing plans that accommodate the specific users and conditions.
