Time Commitment
Organizer: Approximately 5 hours to recruit attorney volunteers and teachers, and coordinate with court staff.
Teachers: No classroom preparation for students or teachers. All preparation is incorporated into the courtroom event.
Court: The program requires approximately three hours in the courtroom – from orientation to adjournment. Court staff handles all courthouse logistics.
Volunteers: It takes about 45 minutes to read all the program materials (found at link below), 20 minutes to hold an orientation meeting with the judge to discuss the agenda, roles and logistics prior to the event, and approximately three hours for the program itself.
