Description

This presentation will provide an overview of the newly formed Foundation of Life Care Planning and Rehabilitation Research’s (FLCPRR) vision, mission and goals. Various types of research projects will be discussed and how you can participate in research. The process for application for funding through the FLCPRR will be explained and we will invite thoughts on future research needs.

  • Debra Berens, Ph.D., CRC, CCM, CLCP

    Dr. Debra Berens maintains a nationwide practice since 1989 specializing in life care planning and vocational opinions for children and adults. She has authored/co-authored over 45 articles/chapters and over 50 presentations, and received industry awards including 2010 Outstanding Life Care Planning Educator, 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award in Life Care Planning and inaugural 2021 Paul Deutsch Award. Debbie currently serves on the FLCPRR Board of Directors, member at large.

  • Ann Neulicht PhD, CLCP, CRC, CVE, CDMS, D/ABVE, LCMHC

    Dr. Neulicht earned her doctorate in Rehabilitation Research and has worked in private sector rehabilitation for over 38 years. Based in Raleigh NC, her nationwide consulting practice focuses on Life Care Planning, Vocational/Earnings Capacity Assessment, Labor Market Analysis, and Case Management. She has been a Vocational Expert for the Social Security Administration since 1990 and has qualified as a Rehabilitation and/or Life Care Planning Expert in multiple court settings. Dr. Neulicht has held multiple leadership positions within the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) and the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC). She was a principal investigator for the Life Care Plan Surveys (2001, 2009, 2022) and Labor Market Research Survey (2006). Dr. Neulicht is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award (2021, International Academic of Life Care Planners), Outstanding Life Care Planning Educator Award (2016, Foundation for Life Care Planning), and Outstanding Individual Professional Member Award (2004, IARP). She also received the 1995 Distinguished Service and Harley B. Reger Awards from the National Rehabilitation Counseling Association for her research contributions, creative activity, dedication to consumers, and commitment to professional organizations. Her interest in ethics and rehabilitation/life care plan protocols has led to multiple publications and presentations at local, regional, and national conferences.

  • Rick Robinson, Ph.D., MBA, LMHC, CRC, CLCP, CVE, D/ABVE

    Dr. Rick Robinson holds a doctoral degree in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Florida where he was previously the developer and lead instructor for the post graduate professional certificate program in Forensic Vocational Rehabilitation. My research interests are related to models and methodologies in forensic vocational rehabilitation and life care planning assessment. He is nationally certified as a Rehabilitation Counselor, Vocational Evaluator , and Life Care Planner; board certified as a National Certified Counselor and as a Diplomate of the American Board of Vocational Experts; and licensed by the State of Florida as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Rick currently serves as secretary of the FLCPRR.

  • Tanya Rutherford Owen Ph.D., CRC, CLCP, LPC, FIALCP

    Dr. Tanya Rutherford Owen is a life care planner and rehabilitation counselor with over 25 years of experience in the field of rehabilitation. In private practice since 2001 and active in the Department of Rehabilitation, Education and Research at the University of Arkansas as an adjunct professor and guest lecturer. She has served as editor of the Journal of Life Care Planning for 5 years, currently the managing editor of the Journal of Life Care Planner and The Rehabilitation Professional. She has researched and published articles and has earned awards including Outstanding Rehabilitation Education & Research Doctoral Student Award, Best Student Paper Award (FLCPR), Outstanding Life Care Planning Educator Award (FLCPR /IARP/IALCP). She currently serves on the FLCPRR Board of Directors, member at large.

  • Laura Woodard MA CRC CCM CLCP

    I have been working at ReEntry Rehabilitation Services, Inc. since 1995. My Bachelor of Arts degree from Pomona is in international relations. I earned a Master of Arts degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Maryland when I lived in Baltimore. I am certified as a rehabilitation counselor, a life care planner, and a case manager. At ReEntry, I do rehabilitation counseling, life care planning and case management, and supervise other people working on cases here. I am in charge of staff development training and recruit speakers and set up training programs. I enjoy working with people who have disabilities and coordinating services. I am life care planning section representative to the International Association of Rehabilitation Professional board.

  • Steven Yuhas M.Ed., CRC, CLCP, NCC, CCM, CBIS

    Steve Yuhas has provided catastrophic case management and consultation services since 1985, certifying in Life Care Planning in 1995. He is the recipient of the 2018 IARP Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Services and Commitment to the Rehabilitation Profession and 2018 FLCPR’s Cheryl L. Jasper Memorial Recognition Award. He is active in several organizations, and has served as past president of IARP, and past chair of IALCP. He currently serves on the FLCPRR Board of Directors, member at large.
