Session Description
The session speakers will provide a first-hand overview of the different global oral health policy initiatives, including the oral health resolution (2021), the Global Strategy on Oral Health (2022), the Global Oral Health Action Plan (2023) and the monitoring framework with global targets. Other work streams are complementing and supporting these policies with more technical guidance and details, such as the work on “Best Buys for Oral Health” or the inclusion of dental preparations in the WHO List of Essential Medicines. Leading WHO officers and experts will share the latest developments and highlight the importance of an effective interface between global, regional and national levels for concrete action. An interactive panel discussion will facilitate audience engagement and deepen understanding of the unique opportunities to improve oral health equity worldwide.
