The APHA Education Board presents: Speaking with Impact: Techniques for effective public speaking and presentation skills

This webinar is intended to serve as a reference and resource to aid individuals in public speaking and giving effective presentations. Participants will learn how to prepare for different forms of presenting by identifying types of presentations commonly used at public health-related conferences and understanding the best practices for professional presentations. Additionally, participants will learn how to decrease performance anxiety and successfully engage their audiences.

    is an Assistant Professor at the University of New Haven in the Department of Population Health and Leadership and focuses his research on the intersection of body image, disordered eating behaviors, health policy, and racial and sexual minority health.

  • Mary Volenec DNP, MPH, RN

    is a Registered Nurse who works with diverse populations in the home and community care environment. Throughout her career, Dr. Volenec has developed and presented on a variety of topics salient to nursing, nursing education and the intersection of nursing with public health.
