CS Institute Play Therapy Cohort- A New Way- Jungian Analytical Play Therapy

JAPT realizes that the therapeutic powers of play utilized initiates the healing within the child. JAPT focuses on the unconscious and the symbolic manifestations of play as the mechanism for healing. This theoretical orientation recognizes the power within the client versus outside sources or techniques. The Fundamental concepts of JAPT will be presented, discussed and utilized in this workshop.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will discuss 2 foundational concepts in JAPT.
  2. Participants will analyze 3 play therapy key concepts in JAPT.
  3. Participants will describe the role of the clinician, client, and caregivers in JAPT.
  4. Participants will critique 2 JAPT concepts in relation to other play therapy theoretical orientations.
  5. Participants will discuss utilizing JAPT within their own practice.
  6. Participants will practice 2 JAPT play therapy skills.
CS Institute is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to play therapy. APT Approved Provider number is 15-419. CS Institute maintains responsibility for the program.

    Sharolyn Wallace PhD, LCSW, RPT-S, IMH-E® has worked with children and families for over 30 years. She has served on the APT Board of Directors and OKAPT and currently serves on the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB). Dr. Wallace has authored six children’s books and APT magazine articles. She is the Professor of Human Services at Tulsa Community College and Faculty Director for the Center for Addiction Prevention and Recovery Support.
