CB play therapy was developed by Susan Knell based on the foundational
principles and work by Aaron Beck. This play therapy modality
incorporates cognitions, behaviors and play therapy interventions to
address psychodynamic issues. CBPT focuses on children’s ability to
process information based on developmentally appropriate areas of
affective, cognitive, and behavioral domains. This workshop will focus
on the CBT foundational concepts in the process of application of play
therapy.
Objectives:
- Participants will discuss 2 foundational concepts in CB Play Therapy.
- Participants will analyze 3 play therapy interventions in CB Play Therapy.
- Participants will describe the role of the clinician, client, and caregivers in CB Play Therapy,
- Participants will critique 2 CB Play Therapy concepts in relation to other play therapy theoretical orientations.
- Participants will discuss utilizing CB Play Therapy within their own practice.
- Participants will design 2 CB Play Therapy interventions.
