Chicks Aren't Chicken: Play Therapy Techniques to EMpower Girls

This workshop will address the key social issues school age and adolescent girls face today. CBT, Adlerian, and Gestalt play therapy interventions will be introduced and practiced during this training.

Objectives:

  1. Participants will discuss 2 foundational concepts in CBT, Adlerian, andGestalt Play Therapy.
  2. Participants will analyze 3 play therapy interventions in CBT, ADlerian, and Gestalt Play Therapy in regards to school age and adolescent girls.
  3. Participants will describe the role of the clinician in CBT, ADlerian and Gestalt Play Therapy,
  4. Participants will critique 2 CBT, Adlerian and Gestalt Play Therapy concepts in relation to this unique population and issues.
  5. Participants will discuss utilizing CBT, Adlerian, and Gestalt Play Therapy within their own practice with school age and adolescent girls..
  6. Participants will design either 2 CBT, Adlerian, or Gestalt Play Therapy interventions.
CS Institute is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to play therapy. APT approved provider number15-419. CS Institute maintains responsibility for the program.

  • Tasha Milligan LPC,RPT

    Tasha Milligan is a licensed professional counselor as well as a registered play therapist with 12 years of experience working with children and teens. She enjoys creating counseling books and games to use in sessions to help children with specific difficulties and needs. She uses a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy with child-centered play therapy in her private practice in rural Oklahoma.
