Description:
Inference-based CBT (I-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment of choice for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. I-CBT is an upstream modality that targets the obsessional doubt of the OCD cycle (Aardema, 2023). When the obsessional doubt is resolved, then the anxiety and compulsive aspects of OCD do not take place (Aardema, 2023). This can be used as a stand-alone treatment for OCD that does not require exposures.This training will give clinicians an introductory knowledge of I-CBT, and they will then be able to provide I-CBT treatment for clients with OCD. This training is 5 hours and is delivered in a didactic format with practicum.

Instructor Bio:
Brittany is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in Obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety disorders. Brittany received her Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Work from Salisbury University. Brittany is an experienced practitioner and author in Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), having authored the first published I-CBT workbook. Brittany has created an entire I-CBT training that she has taught to hundreds of clinicians. She receives regular consultations from the Founder of I-CBT, Fred Aardema. She also participates in frequent learning opportunities around I-CBT such as facilitating skills groups to help clinicians implement different techniques they can use with their clients when utilizing I-CBT.https://zenpsychologicalcenter.com/about-me/

The Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) has a process for approving individual programs or providers for continuing education through their Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. ACE approved providers and individual courses approved by ASWB are not accepted by every state and regulatory board for continuing education credits for social workers. Every US state other than New York accepts ACE approval for social workers in some capacity: New Jersey only accepts individually approved courses for social workers, rather than courses from approved providers. The West Virginia board requires board approval for live courses, but accepts ASWB ACE approval for other courses for social workers.
