CAS Continuing Education Policy
The CAS Continuing Education Policy applies to all ACAS and FCAS members who provide Actuarial Services. Actuarial Services are defined in the CAS Code of Professional Conduct as “professional services provided to a Principal by an individual acting in the capacity of an actuary. Such services include the rendering of advice, recommendations, findings or opinions based upon actuarial considerations.” Members who are or could be subject to the continuing education requirements of a national actuarial organization can meet the requirements of the CAS Continuing Education Policy by satisfying the continuing education requirements established by a national actuarial organization recognized by the Policy. For further information regarding the CAS Continuing Education Policy please visit the CAS web site.

CAS Webinars may qualify for up to 1.8* CE Credits for CAS members.
Participants should claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. CAS members earn 1 CE Credit per 50 minutes of educational session time, not to include breaks and/or lunch. *The amount of CE credit that can be earned for participating in this activity must be assessed by the individual attendee. It also may be different for individuals who are subject to the requirements of organizations other than the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Contributors

  • Gary Haase

    Gary Haase has served as EVP and COO of CNA since 2021. In this role, he
    leads the Technology, Analytics, Operations, Procurement, Real Estate and
    Resiliency practices. He is seeking to drive operational effectiveness at CNA
    by harnessing its vast data resources to create uniquely valuable insights
    and increasingly tailored solutions for our target market insureds.

    Prior to joining CNA, Gary served as Group COO of Catalina Holdings where
    he was responsible for overseeing the due diligence, integration and ongoing
    management and performance of Catalina’s acquired entities. During his
    tenure at Catalina, he also held a variety of CEO and Director roles. He
    began his career at Aon and is a fully credentialed actuary (FCAS).

    Gary has nearly two decades of experience in the insurance industry and
    has held a wide variety of leadership roles including responsibility for
    operations, liability performance, data analytics, corporate strategy and
    technology. Gary’s expertise in driving business strategy through analytics
    and technology solutions positions CNA to further institutionalize
    sophisticated analytical technologies across our entire value chain.

    Gary holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Iowa and an MBA in
    Quantitative Finance from NYU Stern School of Business, where he also
    occasionally serves as an adjunct professor of statistics and data analysis.

  • Santosh Bardwaj

    Santosh Bardwaj serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Data & Analytics
    Officer. In this role, he leads the development and implementation of an
    enterprise data and analytics vision that allows CNA to continually innovate
    the use of real-time insights to enable smarter and quicker decision making.
    Santosh has more than 20 years of technology and leadership experience
    modernizing and scaling data ecosystems at Fortune 250 financial services
    companies.

    Prior to his role at CNA, he drove major transformation programs
    both at Capital One and Discover Financial Services, which included
    modernizing traditional systems to cloud-based advanced analytics
    capabilities.

    Santosh is passionate about workforce development, building engineering
    cultures and cultural transformation. At Discover, he founded the
    “Greenhouse” innovation labs to showcase the “Art of Possible,” taking ideas
    to market within weeks by assembling small, autonomous engineering squads
    and leveraging modern agile practice.

    Santosh has a BS in Electronics Engineering and MBA in International
    Business.
