Achieving Existing Portfolio Decarbonization Goals with Data Analytics

As Building Owners shift their focus from energy efficiency to decarbonization, stewardship and sustainability, what are the fundamental goals that they are pursuing and why? Understanding the impact of an organization’s Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) goals is key to moving these initiatives forward. Often, we see building owners group their buildings into categories and make high level decisions based on limited information. These decisions can create misalignments between fundamental measures implemented and the expected outcomes of the ESG program. By digging deeper and using data from a range of sources, we can understand a facility’s operational constraints and achieve better outcomes. Data analytics allow commissioning providers and other stakeholders to make subtle changes to building operations that produce a meaningful impact on the goals of the ESG program.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Recognize the functional impact of building owners’ ESG goals.
  2. Triage facility operations within provided budgets.
  3. Meet performance expectations by addressing implementation and operation challenges.
  4. Acknowledge the critical role commissioning providers play in meeting ESG goals.
