Standards of Practice of Recreational Therapy

This revision of the ATRA standards of practice includes both subtle and significant changes in contact and language of the standards, criteria, and evaluation tools. The adoption of the definition of recreational therapy by the ATRA Board of Directors in 2009 provided clear direction to the need to focus the ATRA standards of practice for recreational therapy. This change in focus is both timely and appropriate so the ATRA standards or practice can be relevant and consistent with practice expectations in health care and human service agencies where most recreational therapists work. As a result in this change in focus, the revision of the ATRA standards of practice is titled ATRA Standards for the Practice of Recreational Therapy and Self-Assessment Guide. 125 pages (2015)
