Overview
Project Relate is a free beta Android app from Google Research that utilizes AI to create a personalized speech recognition model that may help people with non-standard speech to be better understood by others. We walk walk through the entire process of creating a personalized speech recognition model using Relate and then demonstrate all the different features live. We will share case studies, and there will be plenty of time for discussion and Q&A.

Biography
Richard Cave is a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) based in the UK, PhD candidate at UCL, national adviser to Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists for voice banking, Ambassador to the Mouth Cancer Foundation and recipient of the 2022 Allied Professional award from the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations. Richard works with Google, providing specialist SLT consultancy to the Relate, Euphonia, Look to Speak, Activate projects. He also works with the MND Association, the leading nonprofit for people with ALS in the UK. Prior to qualification as a SLT, he worked in the IT industry for 18 years.
