This lecture will provide an overview of how breast imaging technologies have changed over the last several years, bringing challenges, opportunities and growth to breast imaging teams across the globe. Attendees will discover methods for minimizing burnout and stress from a physically and emotionally demanding environment. Key aspects will include differentiating new breast imaging technologies, focusing on proper ergonomics and enhancing communication skills.

Objectives
After this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how breast imaging technologies and tools have changed over the last several years and how these changes have brought challenges, opportunities and growth to breast imaging teams
  • Discover methods for minimizing burnout and stress from a physically and emotionally demanding environment
  • Identify steps in the “Guide to Thrive” toolkit to overcome challenges and embrace opportunities in an environment of accelerating change

    Sarah has educated breast imaging professionals across the US and internationally, offering training and expertise in standardized mammography positioning, digital breast tomosynthesis, MQSA inspection preparation, ACR accreditation, policy and procedure development, workflow analysis and has served as an expert witness.

    She has had the honor and privilege of serving on committees for national professional societies including the National Consortium of Breast Centers and the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI). She has assisted in planning and presenting at each of their annual conferences and plays an active role serving fellow mammographers through these committees.

    Sarah currently writes for the SBI’s quarterly newsletter in both the Technologist’s & Wellness columns and has been a guest writer for Scanner, ASRT’s quarterly magazine.
