Article V Procedures (PTFA)

Course Description: The course will focus on the Pre-Trial Fairness Act. Participants will learn how new statutes and amended Supreme Court Rules will affect their day-to-day operations. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss the impact of the PTFA with knowledgeable parties who have been piloting the program in their county.

Learning Objectives:
As a result of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify adaptations to Article V procedures due to the Pretrial Fairness Act (PFA).
  • Compare and contrast various policies and procedures before and after the PFA.
  • Differentiate between closely related statute terminology as they pertain to commencement of prosecution.
  • Determine the fingerprinting requirements in various adult and juvenile offenses.
