Course Description: This course will explore the Illinois Supreme Court Code of Interpreter Ethics. This course will allow for discussion on specific ethics scenarios and go over best practices for the scope and role of court interpreters. Finally, this course will give the opportunity to address specific scenarios interpreters or target audience justice partners may have personally encountered.

• Explain the key elements of the Code of Interpreter Ethics.
• Use the Code of Interpreter Ethics to understand the scope and role of a Court Interpreter.
• Identify and apply specific canons to ethics scenarios.
