  • Elizabeth Gerard, MD

    Dr. Elizabeth Gerard is an Associate Professor of Neurology at the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. Her clinical and academic interests are the intersection of reproductive health and epilepsy care and epilepsy genetics. She is the founding director of the Women with Epilepsy Program and Adult Epilepsy Genetics Clinic at Northwestern. She was the site PI for the MONEAD trial and published the trial’s findings on breastfeeding practices in mothers with epilepsy. She is also an author of the recent AAN, AES and SMFM practice guidelines, “Teratogenesis, Perinatal and Neurodevelopmental and Neurodevelopmental Outcomes after In Utero Exposure to Antiseizure Medication” and an expert contributor to the Epilepsy & Pregnancy Medical Consortium which underwrites wwww.epilepsypregnancy.com.
