Stroke Prevention, There's Almost No Such Thing as Heart Disease (It's Just Natural Aging)

This lecture provides an interactive discussion on the 21st-century approach to cardiovascular medicine by understanding the universal processes that are inevitable with aging. At the end of the lecture, participants will understand the "Process Model" rather than the "Disease Model" of aging, be able to recognize and manage asymptomatic atherosclerosis and atrial fibrillation, and actively prevent strokes for their patients.

Learning Objectives

  • Chronic Vascular inflammation/atherosclerosis.
  • Loss of vascular compliance/hypertension.
  • Loss of sinus node function/atrial fibrillation.
  • Develop a clinical paradigm to managing the natural aging process.
  • Develop an active “Stroke Prevention” approach to every (older) patient.
