Contraception Updates for PCPs

This lecture will provide an interactive discussion of key concepts for safe delivery of contraceptive care in individuals with reproductive potential. At the end of this lecture, participants will be able to employ a safe and patient-centered approach to pregnancy intendedness assessment and contraceptive management. This session will provide an overview of contraceptive methods, review recent FDA-approved contraceptive medications, discuss updates in the literature surrounding long-acting reversible contraception (LARC), and explore unique considerations for contraception management in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The session will end with recommendations for point-of-care resources available for use during clinical encounters.
