The Intersection of Reproductive Health, Race, and Gender Identity

This lecture discusses key considerations for providing reproductive health care to those who inhabit the intersection of persons who have been assigned female at birth, the Black community, and the transgender and gender nonbinary (TGNB) community.

Learning Objectives

  • Define terms that relate to TGNB identity and health.
  • Utilize the minority stress model and reproductive justice framework to examine reproductive healthcare topics for persons who inhabit the intersection of Blackness and non-cisgender identities.
  • Discuss approaches to providing effective reproductive healthcare services to Black, TGNB persons.
