Quick & Easy Tools for Preventive Care and Teaching

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) is a group of national experts in disease prevention and evidence-based medicine who provide recommendations about clinical preventive services. Quick, age-specific recommendations are available via the USPSTF app and, when combined with "Putting Prevention into Practice" case studies in the American Family Physician journal, are easy-to-use preventive care teaching tools. This session will lead participants in using these tools to review recent preventive updates and deliver case-based teaching.

Learning Objectives

  • Use the USPSTF app to manage preventive care and stay abreast of updates.
  • Utilize "Putting Prevention Into Practice" AFP case studies to learn and teach guidelines.
  • Discuss some recent USPSTF guideline updates.
