A case-based learning activity of common and less encountered eye conditions from a primary and urgent care perspective. Participants will be presented with non-urgent, urgent and emergent situations with a focus on infectious, inflammatory and traumatic etiologies. The lecture will discuss in-office strategies to delineate ophthalmic conditions, as well as possible treatments and/or urgent referral.

Learning Objectives

• Describe the variation in presentation of common and less common eye conditions in the outpatient setting.
• Delineate non-urgent, urgent and emergent conditions and quickly triage the severity of the presenting complaint.
• Determine an appropriate in-house treatment option versus the need for urgent referral to an ophthalmologist or emergency department.
