Becoming the Self-Aware Self-Advocate

Contracts, negotiations, promotions or job changes, your professional life isn't just about patient care. In this course, we will guide you through how to find your voice in salary and position negotiations, navigate the waters of the "C" suite, and move through your professional life. This course is a great primer for new graduates and an excellent refresher for clinicians seeking a job change or promotion, or are returning to practice after an absence.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand how changes to healthcare policy in the United States has affected patient care and the healthcare workforce.
  • Identify tools that clinicians may use when advocating for themselves in a hospital system, private practice or in a business partnership.
  • Cite at least two examples of effective clinician self-advocacy.
