Currently Director of the Javeriana Oncology Center (San Ignacio University Hospital - Bogotá, Colombia), Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine - Pontifical Javeriana University (Bogotá-Colombia), and Senior Visiting Scientist at the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Formerly Director General of the National Cancer Institute of Colombia, the oficial advisor of the Ministry of Helath for developing and implementing cancer prevention and control policies. About 20 years of cancer research with emphasis on early diagnosis of breast and cervical cancer in low- and middle-income countries. Collaborative external consultant for institutions such as the Breast Health Global Initiative, American Association for Cancer Research, American Society of Clinical Oncology, World Health Organization, and Pan American Health Organization.

MD, MPH, PhDc in Social Studies. Currently Director of the Colombian National Cancer Instituto (Instituto Nacional de Cancerología Bogotá, Colombia), Editor in Chief Revista Colombiana de Cancerología, Bogotá, Colombia, Collaborator Researcher for the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) . About 23 years of cancer research with emphasis on prevention, cancer control and early diagnosis of cervical cancer.
Dr. Mauricio Maza

Cancer Program of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)

Dr Mauricio Maza is the regional advisor for cancer prevention and control at the Pan American Health Organization. Before joining PAHO, he was the Executive Director for Basic Health International (BHI) a nonprofit organization working on the elimination of cervical cancer. While at BHI, Dr Maza supported The Ministry of Health of Health of El Salvador in the implementation of a successful primary HPV screening and treatment program. Dr. Maza has been a UICC young leader for cancer control, an NCI Center for Global Health trainee in dissemination and implementation research, a grantee of the IARC/WHO 50 FOR 50 initiative, which supports cancer research leaders from low- and middle-income countries, and is a fellow of the Central American Leadership Initiative, as part of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Dr. Rebecca DeBoer

University of California San Francisco, (UCSF) Division of Hematology/Oncology, USA

Rebecca DeBoer, MD, MA is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at University of California San Francisco (UCSF). She received her BA in Human Biology from Stanford University and joint MD/MA in Medical Humanities and Bioethics from Northwestern University, and wrote her master’s thesis on The Ethics of Global Cancer Care and Control. After completing internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago, she worked as an oncology clinician at a public cancer center in rural Rwanda with the NGO Partners In Health for two years. During her subsequent medical oncology fellowship at UCSF, she launched collaborative research in Rwanda and Tanzania focused on clinical guideline implementation, serious illness communication, and resource allocation. She is now clinically based at the public safety net hospital Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and continues to lead, collaborate, and mentor multiple projects that use implementation science to improve quality and equity in oncology care delivery across diverse resource-limited settings.
