Abstract: Comprehensive cost reviews and validations for capital projects are vital ingredients assisting project teams in striving to attain project success. Given the importance of the capital project cost estimate, as the basis of project cost controls, an understanding of its completeness, and accuracy must be known before project can move through the various stages of the project process. It is not always evident to project teams and reviewers exactly what things are important when looking at a completed cost estimate. This paper and presentation will attempt to present and discuss a checklist to serve as a starting point for the review and validation process.
