Target Audience This continuing education (CE) activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of nurse practitioners and other clinicians who provide healthcare for reproductive age women.

Educational Objectives: at the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: 
1. Discuss alcohol consumption patterns and alcohol consumption guidelines for women. 
2. Describe how to administer a validated alcohol use screening tool in primary care settings. 
3. Discuss the steps for a brief negotiated interview as part of screening, brief intervention, and referral for treatment (SBIRT) used in primary care.
